Following initial internal training getting hands on experience, the formal qualification via an apprenticeship in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair at SVQ Level 3 will commence, making this a fantastic opportunity for those looking to start their career in a mechanical role. Duties in the workplace will include: Working alongside the Mobile Plant Fitter to ensure all inspections and repairs are carried out according to the manufacturer’s procedures and in a safe and responsible manner within reasonable times for all plant and equipment Undertaking training to learn how to ensure that all plant and equipment is inspected and serviced within legal compliance regulations and in line with company policies Travel to other depots as required with trained personnel to carry out inspections and repairs Ensure that all service paperwork is completed accurately as per instructions Assist with maintaining workshop housekeeping Using specialist equipment and tools as and when required, when trained to do so Develop skills and knowledge through internal in-house training and supervision prior to undertaking formal apprenticeship training Applicants must be committed, enthusiastic and hard working. They must have the ability to work as part of a team. A driving licence will be required for this role, therefore applicants who do not yet have their driving licence should be working to achieving this or prepared to do so when of age.
