1:1 ASC Support Assistant – Year 6
Location: Croxteth
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Croxteth. This position is available for an immediate start and offers the chance to make a real difference to the lives of pupils with additional needs.
The Role
You will be providing specialist 1:1 support within a Year 6 class, working closely with two boys who each have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role will involve:
* Offering consistent emotional support to help the pupils feel safe, valued and understood
* Supporting access to learning by adapting resources and approaches to suit individual needs
* Building positive and trusting relationships with the pupils, helping them develop confidence and resilience
* Working in close partnership with the class teacher, SENCo and wider staff team
* Liaising with parents and carers to ensure consistent support both at school and at home

Essential Requirements
* A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
* Strong experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ideally including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* Patience, empathy and a calm, consistent approach
* The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also showing initiative and independence
