IT Technician Location: North Birmingham, West Midlands Employer: Monarch Education Job Description: Monarch Education is seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Technician to support a Birmingham-based school. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the school's IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems, and providing responsive support to staff and students. Key Responsibilities : Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices. Provide first-line technical support to staff and students, resolving IT issues efficiently. Monitor and maintain network systems, ensuring security and optimal performance. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls via Active Directory. Support the rollout of new technologies and software updates across the school. Maintain accurate records of IT assets, repairs, and service requests. Ensure compliance with data protection and safeguarding policies in all IT operations. Liaise with external IT service providers when necessary. Requirements: Previous experience in an IT support role, ideally within an educational setting. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and basic networking. Familiarity with school management systems and safeguarding protocols is desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
