We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team at our Kingswells practice in Aberdeen. This is a permanent position offering a rewarding and varied caseload, from family ponies to elite competition horses.
This role offers flexibility tailored to your clinical interests, including responsibilities such as physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment planning, routine care (vaccinations, dentistry, ambulatory visits), and shared emergency/out-of-hours work. We also handle referrals for orthopaedic, surgical, and medical cases, providing excellent professional growth opportunities in a well-equipped environment.
Flexibility and Work-Life Balance
Our flexible rota and working hours are designed to support your work-life balance. We accommodate various work patterns, including part-time roles up to 24 hours per week, with a 1:8 OOH rota, half-day after weeknights, and a Friday off after on-call weekends.
Facilities and Team
Our purpose-built premises include stables, trot ups, a sand school, treatment room, stocks, knockdown box, and theatre, with modern equipment like portable DR radiography, ultrasound, shockwave, lasers, and video endoscope/gastroscope. Our team comprises 7 equine vets, 3 nursing assistants, and 4 office staff, with regular meetings, specialist support, and community engagement events.
