We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pattern Maker and Assistant Garment Technologist and to join our team.
This new opportunity requires someone with exceptional attention to detail and a solid understanding of Womenswear garment construction.
Responsibilities:
* Liaising with the Designers, Production Manager, and Suppliers to offer technical guidance on new product development and garment construction. Aiming to reduce time, returns, cost and improving quality.
* Create accurate development specifications for various types of garments, ensuring proper fit, balance, and proportion for all design briefs, working in conjunction with the Designer.
* Adjust designs as necessary based on feedback from sample fittings or design alterations, maintaining the integrity of the original design while addressing fit and style requirements.
* Utilise grading rules to scale patterns up or down in size when necessary, ensuring consistency across different garment sizes while adhering to our size guide standards.
* Conduct thorough reviews of designs or fit comments to identify and rectify any errors or discrepancies before they are used in production.
* Maintain accurate records of all designs, including version history, alterations, and specifications, to facilitate efficient communication both internally and with suppliers.
* Undertake audits by spot checking products and reporting on findings.
* Advising on fabrications for specific size specs at design and sign-off stage prior to sampling whilst supporting in finding new silhouettes for product development.
* Prepare samples for twice weekly fit sessions, ensuring that the sample correlates to tech pack and development spec given is fit for purpose.
Requirements
* A minimum of 2years’ experience of a similar role in a fast-paced Womenswear fashion environment.
* Pattern-cutting knowledge and practise is essential.
* Knowledge of grading and grade rules is essential.
* Experience of working directly with factories, and thorough understanding of factory production, including workflow, production control, and equipment
* Comprehensive understanding of fitting and fit issues is essential.
* Thorough understanding of garment construction and fabric technology.
* Strong time-management skills; able to prioritise tasks & be flexible.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Clear concise communication is a must both written and verbally.
* Confident using Office 365, including Outlook, Excel and OneDrive.
* Confident using Mac.
