THE HOURS OF THE POST ARE FULL TIME HOWEVER PART TIME HOURS OR JOB SHARE WOULD BE CONSIDERED

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to become part of our evolving Older Adult Community Mental Health Team in Central Fife. The post holder would be based at Whytemans Brae Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

Applications for this post are invited from experienced RMNs, who are able to demonstrate knowledge and skills gained from experience working with older adults in the Mental Health Service. We are seeking confident Nurses with a positive, pro-active approach who can inspire and lead within the wider team. You will be resilient, enthusiastic and committed to working with older adults to provide strength based, person centred assessment, care and treatment.

The successful applicant will have desire to be part of a progressive, innovative Older Adult CMHT. You will be committed to partnership working within the MDT and establishing strong working relationships with primary and secondary care services including third sector and voluntary organisations. It is essential that you have experience of team working, problem solving and risk management. You should also have excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and time management skills and evidence of continuing personal development.

The post holder will have day to day responsibility for managing a caseload and supporting/developing junior staff. You will work collaboratively to provide holistic assessment, treatment and care planning for older adults experiencing mental health difficulties in care homes through a blended approach, which includes care home visits, and telephone/digital as appropriate. The post holder will also facilitate Stress and Distress training sessions; training will be given if not already undertaken.

You will receive a comprehensive induction, clinical/caseload supervision and supportive educational/personal development, which includes protected learning time. This post will also provide opportunities to contribute and shape the development of the role within the evolving OA CMHT.

You should be a NMP, or be willing to undertake the training within 2 years of commencing in post.
Informal Enquiries: Lesley Craw, Nurse Team Lead on 01592 643355 ext 28952

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service.

As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here.

For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’. Further information on these criteria can be found here.

It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form.

We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
