The RoleAs Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the organisation’s financial wellbeing and enabling frontline teams to deliver critical services across the UK and Nepal.Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with Trustees, you will lead the entire finance function and serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. You will guide strategic decision‑making, maintain financial integrity, champion financialernance, and support the organisation’s next phase of modernisation, including the introduction of a new finance system.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Strategy
1. Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning
2. Provide clear financial insight to Trustees, senior leaders and operational teams
3. Support organisational strategy with sound financial direction
Financial Management & Control
4. Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations, including payroll, banking and cashflow
5. Prepare quarterly management accounts and monthly group consolidations
6. Manage UK and international multi‑currency cash flows
7. Act as the key interface with investment managers
8. Lead statutory reporting, external audit, andpliance with SORP requirements
9. Maintain robust internal controls and oversee internal audits
10. Lead on fraud prevention and financial policies
11. Ensure ongoingpliance with Charitymission and HMRC regulations
Stakeholder Engagement
12. Liaise confidently with banks, auditors, advisers, investment managers andernment bodies
13. Support colleagues with grants, project proposals, budgeting and financial oversight
14. Provide financial advice across all departments and international teams
Leadership
15. Lead and develop a UK finance team and support finance colleagues overseas
16. Provide mentoring and professional development
17. Serve as Secretary to both the Audit and Investmentmittees
About YouYou are a dynamic, influential and strategic finance leader who thrives in purpose‑driven environments. You will bring:
18. A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
19. Charity/third sector experience or the ability to quickly adapt to SORP
20. Strong financial reporting, controls and systems confidence
21. Experience leading and developing high‑performing teams
22. Ability to work both strategically and hands‑on
23. Excellentmunication skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
24. Experience implementing a new finance system
