Join our dynamic Science Department at Meridian High School as a permanent Science Technician and play a vital role in inspiring the next generation of scientists. Your opportunity
You’ll play a key role in enabling high-quality practical science education by preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and ensuring health and safety standards are met across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Whether you're experienced in a lab environment or looking to bring your scientific skills into an educational setting, this role offers the chance to work collaboratively with passionate educators, contribute to student learning, and grow professionally in a supportive school community.
What we're looking for:
1. Minimum GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) in Science, English, and Maths (or equivalent).
2. Previous work in a lab, technical, or scientific environment.
3. Familiarity with basic lab techniques and equipment across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
4. Able to manage resources, prioritise tasks, and work independently.
5. Understanding of COSHH regulations and CLEAPSS guidance.
6. Willing to collaborate with teachers and other technicians to support practical lessons and enrichment activities.
7. Committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked lab environment.
8. Clear and confident when supporting staff and students.
Desirable qualifications/experience:
9. A Level, BTEC, HNC/HND or degree in a science subject.
10. Previous work in a school science department or with educational lab ICT systems.

The Details
Start Date: November 2025
Salary: GLF Associate 2 Point 1 - £23,914 + Outer London Weighting Allowance
Actual Salary: £21,430.28 + Outer London Weighting Allowance
Hours: 37.5hrs per week, term time only.
Closing Date: 29 May 2026
