Role Overview
The Network & Telecoms Support Engineer’s role is to provide reliable and efficient maintenance and support of the Trust’s digital network and telecoms infrastructure across all Trust sites. Working to ensure both existing and new infrastructure meets the evolving digital needs of our staff, patients, and visitors.
Responsibilities
* Manage incident & request tickets assigned via the Service Desk.
* Troubleshoot & resolve network and telecoms faults.
* Undertake regular infrastructure audits & preventative maintenance tasks.
* Assist with project delivery.
* Maintain and support network and telecoms infrastructure and systems to ensure digital services are available to the Trust’s staff, patients, and visitors, including networks (wired and wireless), external connectivity (WAN, internet, remote access, VPN, etc.), firewalls, telecoms including Mitel IP telephony, and all network and telecoms systems and equipment hosted on and off-premise.
* Complete all assigned tickets within the Service Desk system in line with service level agreements, keep customers informed of progress, and escalating any likely breaches.
* Report on issues identified during audits.
* Attend all Trust sites as required; provide BAU support cover or complete assigned tickets and project tasks.
* Assist with system updates and upgrades with minimal impact on the production environment.
* Ensure documentation is kept up to date.
Location and Travel
This is a customer-facing role with an on-site requirement. The post holder can expect to work on-site at both Royal Hampshire County Hospital (Winchester) and Basingstoke & North Hampshire Hospital on a weekly basis, as well as attending other Trust sites as required.
Working Hours
Core support hours are between 08:00 and 17:00. Participation in planned maintenance activities outside of core hours is required.
