Overview
We are working with a Special Educational Needs School in the Southport area who are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible on a temporary but ongoing basis. The school provides support to pupils aged 11 to 16 with Autism (ASC). You will be required to work with pupils across the whole school and be expected to support during lessons, lunchtime and with outdoor and off-site activities. It is essential that you have previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
Responsibilities
* Support pupils across the whole school during lessons, lunchtime, and with outdoor/off-site activities.
* Assist with pupils who have Special Educational Needs, focusing on autism (ASC).
* Work with teaching staff to implement learning activities and provide daily support as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant.
* Have previous experience working with pupils with Autism.
* Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident.
* Have at least 6 months school-based experience of working in a UK SEND school setting.
* Two suitable references covering the last 2 years.
* Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
