DP World currently have a fantastic opportunity for a UK IT Terminal Operating System Team Manager (TOS), to join their IT team. This role will assist the Systems Team in ensuring that the integrated terminal system solutions are properly tested and operational within the agreed-upon timelines and will actively contribute to project execution by participating in the testing, integration, commissioning, and go-live stages. This role will also deal with the management of their team, development plans and clearly communicating expectations and goals, manage their performance and provide & ask for support where and when is required
About The Role
How will you contribute:
1. Provide inputs to the development of strategy, policy, and standards for their specific areas of expertise.
2. Proactively engage with the user community to collect information about problem and leads user through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error, for simple problems.
3. Practice compliance to policies and standards Answers inquiries regarding status on resolving generic IT and specific business application problems.
4. Configures, installs and maintains TOS, its specific modules and its interfaces with the other applications. (including future versions an releases of TOS)
5. Proactive maintenance, support and execute the day-to-day administration and operational support for TOS.
6. Provide inputs to the implementation of Application portfolio - ERP and other applications when applicable
7. Contribute to the infrastructure implementation within the TOS requirement inputs
8. Day to day interaction with the vendors for hardware and standard software in accordance Company IT policy and standards
9. Execute the IT Business Application configurations and specifications for deployment/commissioning of container terminal specific equipment (Yard cranes, Quay Cranes, Shuttle Carriers, Rail equipment, gates in collaboration with the maintenance, engineering and facility management teams.
10. Installs, modifies and makes minor repairs to application, and provides technical assistance and training to system users
What will you Bring.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
11. 3-5 years experience in a managerial role is essential.
12. Terminal operations experience is essential.
13. Automated or semi-automated terminal experience would be beneficial.
14. IT Degree or Qualifications would be beneficial.
15. A proven track record of successful project implementation of the TOS system
16. Experience dealing with projects from gathering requirements to implementation.
17. Able to devise IT test plans and implement them including training users
18. Be able to use initiative and act independently or as part of a larger team, able to prioritise work load to meet requirements as set by Line Manager
19. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
20. Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple duties at once
21. Able to be on call under a rotation plan with the systems team
