The Fire & Security Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of fire and security systems projects from conception to completion. This role ensures all works meet statutory regulations, client requirements, and industry standards while managing budgets, timelines, and quality expectations. The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge of fire and security systems with excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Lead planning, coordination, and delivery of fire and security projects, including installations, upgrades, and maintenance works.
Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and technical reviews to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Prepare project documentation including method statements, risk assessments, progress reports, and client updates.
Manage relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Oversee procurement of equipment and materials, ensuring all specifications meet design and regulatory standards.
Monitor contractor performance and carry out site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure systems comply with fire and security standards, including BS, EN, and regulatory requirements.
Support project handover, including commissioning, documentation, testing, and client training where required.
Proven experience managing fire and/or security systems projects.
Strong understanding of fire detection, suppression systems, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and other security solutions.
Strong project management, organisational, and communication skills.
Experience managing budgets, programmes, and multiple contractors.
Competent in producing risk assessments and method statements.
Full UK driving licence.
Fire safety or engineering–related qualifications (e.g., FIA units, FPA courses, NEBOSH Fire Certificate).
Project management certifications (e.g., Experience working within construction or facilities management environments.
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g.,
