Overview

We are looking for graduates for our PMCM team, who have a flexible approach and an appetite to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy. We want you to enjoy working in a collaborative environment where you can apply your skills for a diverse range of clients and projects.

Be part of the PMCM teams (Projects, Management, Construction Management) across Civils Infrastructure & Utilities, Rail, Buildings, and Programme Solutions. You will work on exciting projects in the UK and around the world, supporting from feasibility through design, procurement and construction stages.

Our teams work on prestigious projects including:

* Network Rail Enhancement Programmes
* Transport for Manchester Metro Schemes, Dublin Metrolink, HS2, East West Rail & Trans Pennine route upgrade
* Parliament – Cast Iron Roofs Replacement, CCTV and Westminster Hall
* DfE School Replacement Programme
* University of Southampton
* Scottish Power Property
* Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service’s Learning and Development Centre
* 22 Bishopsgate
* Heathrow Terminal 2B
* Eden Project North (Morecambe)
* Aston Villa Stadium Redevelopment


Our PMCM Teams

PMCM Civils Infrastructure & Utilities – focuses on Roads, Aviation, Defence, Industrial, Water and Energy sectors. Roles include Graduate Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors who plan, coordinate and deliver complex civil infrastructure and utilities projects, managing timelines, budgets, risks and stakeholder relationships.

PMCM Rail – involves delivery of complex rail projects with multi-disciplinary design teams; graduates collaborate with clients and internal teams, and may visit sites.

PMCM Buildings – involves projects across local authorities, residential, education, central government and commercial sectors; opportunities for Graduate Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Building Surveyors.

PMCM Programme Solutions – part of WSP’s Project Controls, focusing on keeping projects on track with document control, performance reporting and scheduling.


Day-to-day Activities

Day-to-day activities vary by team and may include the following:

* Project support and coordination
* Planning, scheduling and monitoring progress; identifying risks and mitigation strategies
* Preparing project documentation, reports and presentations
* Attending client meetings and coordinating communications across teams and stakeholders
* Financial monitoring and reporting to keep projects within budget
* Managing contracts under NEC or bespoke agreements and applying contract terms
* Ensuring activities align with quality management systems and promote health, safety and sustainability

For Quantity Surveyors: support commercial and financial management across transport, water and defence, including cost planning, procurement, contract administration and value engineering.

* Assisting in initial cost estimates and budgets
* Supporting feasibility studies and value engineering
* Drafting tender documents and evaluating bids
* Procurement strategy and contract selection
* Monitoring variations and payments; tracking costs and forecasting final accounts
* Client and contractor meetings; providing commercial updates and dashboards


Rail and Buildings Roles

Rail graduates assist in developing detailed project plans, monitoring progress, managing budgets, reviewing expenditures and handling RFIs and changes. Building roles focus on project planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, cost estimates and contract management.


Graduate Development Programme

Two-year programme designed to support personal and professional development through blended learning, networking, mentoring for professional registration, and on-the-job experience. There are opportunities to pursue chartered status with organisations such as ICE, APM or RICS. Application and selection involve completing an online form and a skill enabler assessment; rolling recruitment may begin before closing dates.

What We Will Be Looking For

* Graduated with at least a 2:1 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
* Complete the application form in full and pass the online skill enabler assessment
* Available to start in April or September 2026
* Passion for project management or surveying and the built environment
* Professional engagement with clients and stakeholders
* Keen to develop tailored solutions and show creativity
