Responsibilities
* Responsible for fiber optic network field activity including long haul and metro, transport, and routers.
* Implement long haul and metro network augmentation, coordination, and installation.
* Work with Network Planning to provide field perspective on network deployment and apply deployment expertise.
* Organize projects with contractors and internal staff.
Qualifications
Required
* Travel by car and/or plane 20% or more of the time; remote office the remainder of the time.
* At least 5+ years of experience on telecommunications networks.
* Working knowledge of telecom infrastructure.
* Experience with optical test equipment: power meters, OTDRs, OSAs, and interpretation of test results.
* Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
* High‑energy individual with interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate peers, and drive projects to completion.
* Field experience in DWDM/SDH/IP networks.
Desired
* Experience managing vendors and carriers.
* Successful project management experience.
* Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, certifications, or training.
