Overview
We are hiring for the Part Time Receptionist role at NHS. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player who can work as part of our team, as well as independently within our busy reception area.
We are a 2 Partner GP surgery with over 10,500 registered patients. Previous experience in a GP practice and use of EMIS Web is mandatory. Your role will include greeting visitors at the reception desk and over the telephone, so a pleasant manner and patience is a must. The reception is a busy area, so you need to be able to multi-task, while remaining calm and maintaining a good sense of humour.
Main duties / Responsibilities
* Open/close practice
* Room check at the end of the day
* Clinical room stock
* Greet all visitors and telephone callers professionally and friendlily
* Manage the flow of patients arriving at the reception desk for appointments, prescriptions, queries or new patient registrations
* Call/recall of patients on chronic disease/LTC register
* Take minutes for meetings when required
* Liaise with MDT team and external contractors
* Make appointments on EMIS Web and submit triages for patients who are unable to do so
* Deal with telephone queries, prescription requests and patient requests; liaise with Doctors/Nurses as necessary
* Pull and file medical records as necessary
* Receive specimens from patients, recording details and following Health & Safety policy
* Tidy waiting room between visits from cleaning staff; sort magazines and leaflets and discard old/damaged items
* Maintain thorough knowledge of all practice policies and procedures and adhere to them
* Filing patient records/posting and registering new patients
* Ad hoc tasks as required by the Practice Manager or partners
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* EMIS Web experience is a MUST
* GP surgery reception team experience is a MUST
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Computer literate
* Ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
* Attention to detail
Other requirements

About Us
We are a friendly and welcoming team. We have a mixed group of clinicians ranging from Partners and Salaried GPs to Pharmacist and Nurses. Our Admin team comprises reception, admin, secretaries and GP assistants.
