Position Title: Interim Communications Assistant
Location: Dundee (Agile working policy, support for remote working)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
Daily Rate: £115
Department: Communications and Policy Department
Duration: Starting in late June for five months, with the possibility of extension for two additional three-month periods.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Interim Communications Assistant to join our clients Communications and Policy department. You will collaborate with our Communications Managers and Officers to support a wide range of communications, marketing, and digital engagement activities. Your work will play a crucial role in enhancing our internal and external communications.
Key Responsibilities:
· Social Media Management: Oversee and engage with our clients social media platforms to boost our online presence.
· Content Creation: Develop and distribute compelling content across various platforms.
· Email Newsletters: Create and manage content for our internal and external email newsletters.
· Website and Intranet Updates: Maintain and update information on our website and intranet.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
· Education: HND or equivalent qualification.
· Experience: Demonstrable experience in a communications, marketing, or information assistant role.
· Social Media: Proficient in using social media platforms.
· Content Creation: Skilled in writing and proofreading copy for online newsletters and leaflets.
· Busy Environments: Capable of operating effectively within a fast-paced environment.
· Confidentiality: Experience in handling confidential information.
· Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
· Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and ability to analyse results and insights.
· Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills, ability to prioritise workload.
· Administrative Skills: Proficient in administrative tasks and meeting deadlines.
· Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Share Point, etc.
Desirable Skills:
· Experience in producing audio, video, and photography.
· Skilled in information gathering and record-keeping, including statistical analysis.
· Experience working with the general public.
· Proven ability to work to deadlines and targets.
· Maintenance and organisation of administrative systems.
· Effective forward planning skills.
· Experience with web and intranet maintenance.
· Proficiency in Photoshop and InDesign.
