Role Summary
The Safety Engineer will support the delivery of Acquisition Safety policy and solutions within a regulated MOD environment. The role focuses on through-life management of project safety risk, supporting the safe and suitable delivery of equipment, systems and services to Front Line Commands.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the generation of technical safety requirements and documentation for sub-systems.
* Identify, collate and evaluate technical safety data to support project documentation maturity.
* Apply relevant safety legislation, regulation, policy, processes and standards.
* Contribute to technical risk management activities at project and programme level.
* Support the development, review and maintenance of safety artefacts and safety cases.
* Collaborate with stakeholders on technical safety requirements.
* Support system safety test, verification, validation and evaluation activities.
* Assist with through-life safety support, modification, disposal and decommissioning activities.
* Contribute to technical assurance activities within the safety discipline.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* STEM qualification at RQF Level 3 or equivalent.
* Experience providing technical advice and supporting delivery of engineering outcomes.
* Experience working within regulated engineering environments.
* Working towards professional registration (EngTech or RSciTech) with a relevant professional body.
