Teaching Assistant – Specialist Primary Setting Location: Near Winchester Pay: £14.25 per hour Full-Time | Term Time Only We are currently seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and professional Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary setting located near Winchester. This opportunity would suit individuals with previous experience supporting children or vulnerable individuals, including those from backgrounds in Special Educational Needs (SEN), care, healthcare, support work, childcare, or education who are looking to apply and further develop their skills within a specialist educational environment. About the Setting This specialist primary provision supports pupils with a diverse range of complex special educational needs, including physical disabilities, learning difficulties, communication difficulties, sensory needs, and medical requirements. The school provides a highly supportive and inclusive environment designed to enable every child to access learning in a way that meets their individual needs. Through a personalised and adapted curriculum, the setting focuses not only on educational progress but also on developing communication skills, independence, confidence, and overall wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively across education and care to ensure pupils receive consistent, high-quality support throughout the school day. Role Overview As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils both academically and personally, helping them to engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes. You will provide support on an individual and small-group basis and assist pupils with a range of needs throughout the school day. Depending on pupil requirements, responsibilities may include supporting communication, assisting with mobility, and providing personal care where appropriate. This role combines educational support with elements of care and requires a patient, adaptable, and proactive approach. Full training and ongoing guidance will be provided to ensure staff feel confident and supported in meeting individual pupil needs.
