Please note: The on-call rota is 1 week in 3 - on-call for a 7 day period every 3 weeks. First point of contact outside office hours, i.e. Monday to Friday 17:30-09:00 and for the weekend from 17:30 Fri to 09:00 Monday to deal with any incidents which require the Systems Administrator support.

Joining us as aSystems Administrator 24/7
Are you someone who enjoys solving infrastructure challenges, improving systems through code, and working in a collaborative, high-impact team? We’re looking for a proactive and curious Systems Administrator to join our dynamic Platform team, where you’ll play a key role in supporting, scaling, and evolving our cloud infrastructure.
This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining the health, performance, and reliability of our systems, while contributing to ongoing improvements across the platform. You’ll work closely with engineers across the business to manage infrastructure as code, streamline deployments, and enhance monitoring and alerting.

This is some of what you can expect to be doing:
* Maintain and support AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure performance and reliability across environments
* Act as the first point of escalation for infrastructure incidents, ensuring timely resolution and documentation
* Deploy and manage infrastructure using tools like Ansible, focusing on consistency and automation
* Monitor system health using observability tools and ensure alerts reach the right teams
* Collaborate with engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native applications
* Manage core services including DNS, networking, and firewall changes to keep environments secure and performant
What you’ll bring to the role
You’ll have solid experience in systems administration, with a proven ability to deploy and support operating systems and applications across both Linux and Windows environments. You’re someone who’s curious, proactive, and excited about using technology to make systems faster, more secure, and easier to manage. You’ll also bring:
* Expertise in DNS management and core networking fundamentals
* Proven experience in provisioning, managing, and troubleshooting services within AWS
* Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Ansible) for consistent and scalable deployments
* Working knowledge of at least one scripting language to quickly prototype and automate solutions
