At MacIntyre Coffee Shop, we support adults with learning disabilities to gain skills, build confidence, and find purpose through meaningful work in a vibrant café environment. We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career, combining day-to-day support with leadership and operational duties.

Responsibilities

* Support with day-to-day compliance, including training records, DBS checks, and medication documentation
* Help manage rotas, holiday tracking, and staff development through regular check-ins
* Maintain strong relationships with families, suppliers, and wider management
* Oversee key operational tasks such as stock control, maintenance reporting, and event planning
* Balance active support for the people we support with responsibility for staff guidance, service quality, and smooth café operations

Day-to-Day

* Supporting people in their daily lives, including personal care
* Helping individuals gain work and life skills in a supportive café environment
* Encouraging meaningful community involvement
* Supporting with catering tasks, stock control, and money handling

* A team player with good IT skills and a proactive approach
* Someone who thrives in a busy, evolving environment
* A full UK manual driving licence - this is essential for the role
* Previous experience in support work or team leadership is helpful, but full training and ongoing support will be provided

Why join us?

* A meaningful role where you can genuinely make a difference
* A supportive, values-led team and organisation
* Career development and opportunities to grow
* A chance to be part of something that truly matters

Apply now and help us create a welcoming space where people are supported, empowered, and proud of what they achieve - one coffee, one connection, and one day at a time.

About you continued

Customer service and catering experience would be ideal, however this is by no means essential. Our coffee shop is very popular, and as a result this is a physically demanding role. You will enjoy a varied, flexible working pattern. This is a shift-based role supporting a rota that includes weekends and evenings. While you are working to encourage people\'s development, MacIntyre will also commit to supporting you to become a confident and successful support worker. This means that, whatever your working background, you will receive training to ensure we can deliver the best possible support. You must hold a UK manual driving licence in order to drive the bakery van.
