The Role:
Join a forward-thinking local government organisation responsible for leading and continuously improving the Health Safety and Wellbeing function across the City of Salisbury's operations. This includes ensuring all employees have the systems, knowledge, and capability to work safely and in compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and safety standards. The role delivers high-quality Health Safety and Wellbeing and return-to-work services, maintaining due diligence in the management of Health Safety and Wellbeing Standards for Self-Insurers.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Providing strong, effective and consistent partnership to the organisation that ensures the effective management of City of Salisbury's safety management systems
 * Development, review and implementation of effective Safety Health and Wellbeing policy, procedure and leadership guides and ensuring their currency and accessibility.
 * Assisting the facilitation of LGRS Risk Evaluation Audits and LGAWCS Procedure Validation Audit processes with the appropriate businesses.
 * Maintaining high quality and consistent operational safety outputs including incident investigation management, management of productive WHS committees, active participation in risk assessment/hazard identification and delivering regular toolbox topics and safety training
 * Preparation and/or sourcing of suitable training material to support effective implementation of the work health and safety management system, including facilitation of relevant training sessions as required in consultation with Learning & Development
Skill & Competencies:
 * Demonstrated ability to influence others to unite and move towards achieving common goals and to prioritise and organise work to meet conflicting demands within a diverse team.
 * Knowledge of legislative frameworks, risk management policy and framework, HSW and Return to Work legislation and Health and Safety Standards for Self-insurers.
 * Proven experience in accident prevention, investigation and analysis
 * Highly developed project management skills which underpin the timely development of strategies, projects and programs and assist in cross functional collaboration.
