JOB PURPOSE

This role will act as lead to own and drive the strategy, delivery, and day‑to‑day operations of our Market Data Services platform across Global Markets. The individual will lead a team of developers responsible for building highly scalable, low‑latency, and resilient market data infrastructure that powers front‑office trading and risk activities worldwide.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Team lead for the developers on the Market Data Services team.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a cross‑functional team of market data developers and platform analysts across one or more locations.
  • Attend meetings with key stakeholders to understand requirements.
  • Ensure that modern development practices are adopted by the development team.
  • Actively track performance metrics and develop solutions to address any issues found.

CROSS‑FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Coordinate testing and release management with the QA team.
  • Work with the Application Support team for 2nd line support for production incidents.
  • Collaborate with other development teams in GDT, such as XTrader, XVA, and Risk Technology to manage integration.
  • Liaise with front‑office trading teams and Quantitative Analysis teams.
  • Engage with colleagues on the Technology management teams to ensure shared accountability for overall success.

AUTHORITIES / DECISION RIGHTS

The job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. For people managers, the role has the authority to assign tasks, select individuals for hire, assess performance, make compensation decisions and take disciplinary actions up to termination.

JOB DIMENSIONS

Resolving complex technical issues and engaging external expertise as required; gathering information to formulate root cause; refining business requirements and converting to technical specifications; selecting technologies within security and audit guidelines; designing solutions with appropriate patterns; analyzing project risk, timelines, and dependencies; dealing with novel issues; managing conflicting timelines with limited resources.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong C# and .NET proficiency.
  • Experience with ASP.NET Web APIs, middleware, OpenAPI/Swashbuckle, OData Core.
  • Market data technologies: Bloomberg B‑Pipe, BPIPE API, Server API, Bloomberg Data License, EMRS, Refinitiv, Elektron Platform, Cloud.
  • Linux systems engineering, Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring and observability using OpenTelemetry.
  • Performance‑oriented coding and ability to spot non‑performant code.
  • SQL querying and database design principles (SQL Server).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write requirement specs, user guides, and support manuals.
  • Leadership skills – providing direction, resolving disputes, handling show‑stopper issues.
