We are looking for a motivated and organised CAD Technician / Surveyor to join our Consulting Team, based at our Renewables & Transport Consulting office in Bradford. Reporting directly to the Consulting Manager, this office-based role also includes attending site meetings across the UK and occasional travel within the EU.
Scope & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Carry out Swept Path Analysis (SPA) using AutoCAD software.
* Assess, review and design loading and transport methods using CAD.
* Produce route assessment reports, project documentation and CAD drawings.
* Communicate directly with clients, contractors and colleagues.
* Undertake route surveying and analysis.
* Carry out land-based topographical surveys using calibrated instruments and surveying equipment.
Qualification & Experience
* Qualified to A Level standard.
* Good level of 2D AutoCAD experience (3D AutoCAD desirable but not essential).
* Knowledge of transport and/or engineering/surveying standards and best practices.
* Experience with CDM regulations.
* Excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues and contractors.
* Self-motivated, proactive and well organised.
* Confident, articulate, numeric and an effective team player.
Additional desirable knowledge
* Mechanical and/or Civil Engineering principles.
* Route planning and logistics industry.
* Planning applications and processes.
Location and conditions
The role is based at our Renewables Department in Bradford, West Yorkshire. A valid driving licence and passport are essential, as UK and occasional European travel (including overnight stays) will be required to attend site meetings and service client requirements.
