Exciting opportunity to join the opening team of TopCut, Glasgow's newest steak restaurant.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistants to join our culinary team. The ideal candidates will have a passion for food and a desire to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting our chefs with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen. Previous experience in catering, restaurants, or culinary settings is highly valued.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking and meal service
* Support chefs in cooking and plating dishes as required
* Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to during food preparation and storage
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and cleaning surfaces
* Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages
* Participate in catering events as needed, providing support for meal service
* Follow instructions from chefs to ensure timely delivery of meals
Qualifications
* Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
* Experience in meal preparation and cooking techniques is advantageous
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment
* Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills
* Knowledge of catering services is a plus
