Technical Sales Manager (Speciality Chemicals)
Location: Leeds or London (Hybrid - min. 1–2 days in office)
Salary: £55,000 – £75,000+ (Base, DOE) + Performance & Commission Bonuses

The Opportunity
Are you a commercially-minded Chemist with an entrepreneurial streak? We are a dynamic, rapidly growing speciality chemicals distributor (est. 2018) looking for an ambitious Technical Sales Manager to lead and expand a high-potential new business unit.
As a "Technology First" organization, we bridge the gap between global manufacturers and diverse markets, specializing in UV-curing and sustainable raw materials. This role is a unique chance to drive a whole new division focused on speciality materials for the food, animal feed, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical sectors (including antioxidants and additives like Tannic and Gallic acid).
Key Responsibilities

Business Unit Leadership: Drive the growth of the new speciality raw materials unit and oversee its financial performance (P&L).

Business Development: Proactively identify new opportunities and negotiate contracts to secure accounts across the UK and EU.

Relationship Management: Cultivate long-term partnerships with key customers, providing exceptional technical and commercial support.

Team Building: Develop and nurture a high-performance sales team as the business unit scales.

Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activities to identify emerging growth areas.

Technical Advocacy: Deliver high-level product presentations and represent the brand at international trade shows and conferences.
Requirements

Technical Expertise: A strong background in Chemistry (BSc/MSc 2:1 or 1st class equivalent) is essential.

Proven Track Record: 3–5+ years of experience in B2B technical sales within the speciality chemical industry.

Commercial Acumen: Ability to analyze market data, manage budgets, and contribute to strategic sales planning.

Independence: Comfortable working under remote management while maintaining high productivity.

Communication: Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to deliver client-ready technical presentations.

Mobility: Full driving license and a willingness to travel across the UK and Europe.

Tech-Savvy: Proficient with CRM/ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable Qualifications:
