About the Role

The role plays a critical part in supporting the UK commercial finance agenda through high-quality financial analysis, business partnering, and strategic planning support.
The position is central to strengthening core business performance, unlocking commercial synergies, and helping build a future-ready organisation. It focuses on delivering actionable insights into financial performance, category trends, and long-term planning to support growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Reporting & Analysis
1. Support monthly and quarterly performance packs, KPI dashboards, and reporting for the UK Commercial business unit
2. Analyse performance by business unit, channel, and category
3. Provide insights on mix, margin, and promotional impact
4. Deliver ad hoc analysis on trends and commercial performance
Revenue Growth Management (RGM)
5. Enable data-driven decision-making using market trends, customer behaviour, price elasticity, and competitive analysis
6. Maintain customer and SKU profitability matrices
7. Support external benchmarking and commercial analysis
8. Contribute to pricing and trade promotion optimisation strategies
9. Produce and share monthly and quarterly dashboards for senior stakeholders
Trade Investment Management
10. Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Innovation teams to define optimal pricing and promotional guidelines
11. Ensure trade investment controls are followed and deviations are highlighted
12. Operate closed-loop promotional evaluation processes and embed learnings
13. Identify opportunities to optimise promotional efficiency and ROI
Business Partnering
14. Act as a finance partner to Sales and Marketing teams
15. Provide clarity on actual vs forecast performance
16. Identify opportunities to maximise commercial performance
17. Support cross-functional projects including NPD, business planning, and customer strategy
Planning & Forecasting Support
18. Assist with short, mid, and long-term planning cycles (LE, Budget, and MTP)
19. Support timeline management and delivery of planning milestones
20. Ensure alignment with internal and external stakeholder requirements
21. Communicate plans and insights clearly across the business
Systems & Reporting (Trade Planning Platform)
22. Support administration and data accuracy within the trade planning management system
23. Produce regular reports including promotional calendars, weeks on deal, and promotional profitability
24. Collaborate with IT and system partners on enhancements and reporting improvements
25. Use system insights to identify trends and performance optimisation opportunities
Critical Success Factors
26. Studying towards a professional qualification (preferably CIMA) or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
27. 2-5 years of relevant experience within a UK FMCG environment
28. Strong financial accounting knowledge (P&L and balance sheet)
29. Experience in forecasting and planning cycles
30. Highly numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
31. Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management
32. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
33. Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) preferred
34. Familiarity with FMCG industry dynamics
