About the Role
HSDC is seeking a Lecturer/Teacher of Psychology to ensure outstanding success and progression through the delivery of inspirational teaching, learning and assessment.
The successful applicant will be required to deliver across the following provisions:
* Health and Science
* Level 2 Psychology - Definitions and Illustration of Psychological Concepts
* Level 2 Psychology - Understanding the application and use of Psychological Concepts
* Level 3 Applied Psychology - Unit 2- Research Methods in Psychology
Responsibilities
* Planning effectively and delivering high quality teaching, learning, assessment and support, leading to excellent attendance, retention and achievement.
* To deliver formal scheduled teaching duties, and student assessment.
* To record, share and regularly monitor student progress using College information systems.
* To prepare learning plans schemes of work, keep relevant records and undertake all administration relevant to teaching duties.
* To attend parents' evenings, marketing and promotional events.
Requirements
* Level 5 or equivalent Teaching Qualification such as Certificate in Education or PGCE or willingness to work towards this.
* High level of specialist knowledge of the subject area.
* At least 2 years' experience in teaching the subject area to full‑time or part‑time students (Desirable).
* Degree in relevant subject (Desirable).

*If you are recruited as an unqualified lecturer, you must enrol on the PGCE/Cert Ed within your first two years of employment. You are also enrolled on the fully funded Level 3 Award in Education & Training (formally known as PTLLS) shortly after you start with us, so your formal teacher training starts straight away.
