Laboratory Technician - Construction Materials Testing
Terra Tek Ltd, part of the Igne Group of companies, is seeking a Laboratory Technician - Construction Materials Testing to join its team in Bellshill. If you’re imagining working in a sterile environment with a white coat, this is not the laboratory role. We test ground and soil samples with the very latest technology to support our construction sector clients to find cost-effective solutions for their building projects.
We are happy to consider someone with no experience, looking to start their career in a new sector or someone who has operated in a similar role. What we do need is a willingness to learn, to be happy getting your hands dirty, and be able to move samples that can weigh in excess of 15kg. A Laboratory Technician’s Key Responsibilities:
* Testing various construction materials e.g., soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt
* Completion of test sheets and data entry onto tablets
* Liaise with senior members of staff on work schedules and testing procedures
* Work within in-house quality assurance systems
* Maintain high levels of health and safety in line with company policies
Your Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
About You:
* You will need good communication skills - both written and verbal
* Manual handling and physical activity are daily requirements – samples can weigh in excess of 15kg
* You must be confident to work in a team environment
Salary & Benefits:
* Basic salary is £26,208. Overtime available after 40 hours at a rate of x1.25 and x1.5 on Saturdays and x2 on Sundays
* 33 days’ holiday, inclusive of bank holidays
