DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with all young people
* Promote positive mental well-being and mental health for children and young people on an individual, group, or youth club wide basis.
* Collaborate with children, parents, carers, and team members to create tailored support plans for young people.
* Offer self-help guidance, facilitate group activities, and develop mentorship programs.
* Collaborate with the youth services team to provide holistic, person-centred care.
* Promote mental health awareness by facilitating accessible workshops on mental health.
* Meet young people's individual needs and effectively manage challenging behaviour
* Support young people to deal with problems in a holistic way
* Contribute to the planning and development of youth projects and to involve young people in decision making
* Ensure effective safeguarding of young people
* Attend team meeting
* Undertake relevant administrative duties including monitoring and evaluation of the service and recording outcomes
PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS
* Minimum 6 months experience working with young people in health education or mental health support
* Experience of planning, delivering, and evaluating youth projects
* Experience of delivering accredited projects
* Ability to develop positive relationships with young people
* Experience of dealing with young people with challenging behaviours
* Able to work as a member of a team
* Able to work on own initiative
* Excellent communication and listening skills
* Commitment to equality with an inclusive approach to support diverse backgrounds
* Punctual and reliable
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 7 per week
