Job Overview
The Lead Enterprise Architect will work as part of a team reporting to the Head of Architecture to design and realise the implementation of the Client LFU’s (Licence Fee Unit) Technology Strategy and Architecture, transforming and modernising the technology platforms and services used in the collection, administration, enforcement and marketing of the TV Licence.

Key Responsibilities
1. Define and lead the enterprise architecture and technology strategy for modernising Licence Fee Services (LFS) in alignment with the Client.
2. Drive digital transformation and architecture evolution across billing, revenue management, campaign management, analytics, data, and identity platforms.
3. Provide technical leadership andernance, ensuring secure, scalable,pliant solutions, including responsible AI/ML adoption at scale.
4. Collaborate across engineering, product, delivery, and data teams to deliver high‑availability, platform‑based architectures supporting millions of customer interactions.
5. Lead vendor strategy, build vs buy decisions, and proof‑of‑concept delivery while transitioning to domain‑oriented, data‑product‑driven operating models.
Skills And Experience
6. Experience in designingplex, distributed, secure and scalable end-to-end architecture solutions withinplex organisations.
7. Significant experience as a technical enterprise architect (or similar role), including defining and delivering a technical vision and strategy, and designing scalable, reliable, and maintainable architectures.
8. Strong knowledge of architectural best practices and design patterns, including:
9. Strong experience in designing and modellingplex Billing Models,plex Customer journeys, Customer Hierarchies, Data Models.
10. Ability to design conceptual and logical data models.
11. Experience of database architectures and data modelling, SQL and NoSQL approaches and AWS database services.
12. Sound experience working with a broad range of integration architectural patterns ( SOA and microservices, etc)
13. Knowledge of container orchestration ( Kubernetes)
14. In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, specifically AWS, but including Azure, GCP etc.
15. Experience of production systems and the issues that arise, functional, performance, security
16. Proven experience of conducting technical workshops, presenting technical solutions, preparing architecture guidelines and technical strategy documents.
17. Experience of producing high quality UML based architectural artefacts.
18. Familiar with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, TM Forum, etc) and capable of suggesting new tools/processes.
19. Technology sector experience (for example, mobile carrier/core enterprise systems); experience of designing and transitioning large-scale billing systems/services
20. Knowledge of a broad range of technology concepts such as cloudputing ( AWS), microservice architectures, event-driven architectures and data processing at scale. You will work with a range of specialist teams which may include machine learning, APIs and networking, and client applications (on web, mobile).
21. Approaches to standardisation andernance, such as to manage efficiency, security and legalpliance, in a way that balances standardisation with autonomy at scale.
22. Strong organisational skills that enable you to work across multiple specialist teams to align architecture goals and drive change and adoption.
23. Understanding of key industry trends ( AI). This includes assessing the potential impact of emerging technologies and integrating relevant advancements into the LFU architecture strategy to drive digital transformation.
24. A mix of public sector andmercial experience
