About the Role
This role is to support a young girl living with her parents in their family home in Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottingham. Current care is provided by her parents and employed PAs. Bank Personal Assistant/Carer is required to allow some family respite time.
The client, when born, was diagnosed with Exomphalos Major and a congenital heart disorder and is dependent on a ventilator via Tracheostomy throughout the night. She also has an NG Tube in situ and is fully mobile. The PA will need to be patient and very understanding of her needs, willing to be very interactive as she enjoys getting to know people and must feel comfortable around them.
We are looking to recruit a Bank Personal Assistant/Carer who can support with her night-time regime, including personal care, maintaining good oxygen saturations and support with her emotional well-being. The ideal candidate must have a calming approach.
About You
* The ideal candidate will live locally to the family, be flexible and enjoy the company of animals (the family own dogs).
* Must have a genuine caring nature and a calming presence.
* You will need to be enthusiastic, patient but inspiring to bring a sense of engagement into their life.
* You must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity and respect the family and their home.
* Candidates must be Female due to client needs; experience of supporting clients with Oxygen therapy, Oral suctioning, enteral feeding is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
* Post includes 12-hour night shifts to provide 1:1 care, shifts from 9pm – 9am, covering various nights throughout the week.
* Set days may be allocated, but flexibility is required to support changes including cover for annual leave and sickness.
* The hourly rate is £12.86 per hour; all training is paid, including hours to complete training. An in-depth training package will be delivered to support you in caring for the client.
