King's College London is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in cost planning to play a key role in delivering a programme of high-profile capital projects.
The role will take ownership of end-to-end contract and commercial management for capital projects, ensuring the projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability. The role will include contract administration, commercial management and overall monitoring of all commercial elements of capital projects. This will include early cost advice and estimation to produce outline business cases, management of the internal cost data, management of change and commercial reporting.
The successful candidate will possess relevant experience in a quantity surveying, cost management or commercial leadership role in the construction and property sector. You will have experience of reporting and providing assurance on projects and programmes from a cost, contract and risk perspective and will relish the challenge of achieving value across a broad range of development and estates management activities.
This role offers a unique opportunity for a commercial management professional to move into a strategic client-side role with responsibility for driving value across an incredibly ambitious development programme and diverse and inspiring estate portfolio.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
* Strong knowledge of pre-contract cost planning (essential) as well as post-contract cost reporting
* Experience working alongside and monitoring external consultants/contractors.
* Expertise in contract and procurement management (JCT/NEC contracts).
* Exceptional stakeholder management skills, particularly in a Higher Education or public sector setting
* Experience in reporting cost data and maintaining benchmarking databases
