Overview
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established inpatient mental health service specialising in rehabilitation and acute care for women. The role involves leading clinical care for detained patients under the Mental Health Act within a multidisciplinary team. This service supports women with complex mental health needs, including trauma and personality disorders, in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.
Salary: Up to £165k dependant on experience + £8,400 car allowance
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: 37.5 hours
Setting: Locked rehabilitation and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Location: Guisley
Responsibilities
* Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act
* Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds and risk assessments
* Provide psychiatric input to care planning and treatment decisions
* Participate in clinical governance and management meetings
* Supervise and support junior medical and multidisciplinary team members
* Contribute to in-house training and CPD activities
* Maintain professional revalidation and CPD requirements
Qualifications
* CCT in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
* MRCPsych or equivalent medical qualification
* Experience in inpatient settings with Mental Health Act patients
* Previous consultant experience with leadership responsibilities
* Strong knowledge of current psychiatry legislation and service delivery
