Mahindra RacingMahindra Racing is a motor racing team based in Banbury, United Kingdom, competing with an Indian racing license. The team is currently competing in the electric FIA Formula E Championship since the inaugural season in 2014. Role overview:Senior Test Engineer is responsible for aspects of vehicle testing, including planning and execution, analysis and reporting. This role requires a deep understanding of high-performance vehicles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve compny’s performance objectives. Main responsibilities:Test Operations & Vehicle Validation: Lead and execute track and rig-based testing activities, including full vehicle dynamometer operation, suspension K&C data collection, 4-post rig testing, and both mechanical and electronic validation of suspension and vehicle systems.Simulator Support: Support simulator activities as required, including the planning, execution, and analysis of pre-event simulator sessions with both test and race drivers, followed by comprehensive post-session reporting.Engineering Coordination: Oversee and coordinate cross-functional engineering activities during test events, working closely with performance, controls, systems engineers, and mechanics to deliver against defined test objectives.Process Development & Continuous Improvement: Establish and continuously improve effective working practices for the planning, execution, and reporting of engineering activities across the organisation.Cross-Functional Communication & Data Integration: Liaise with key departments (Vehicle Science, Electronics, Race Engineering, and Design) to ensure data is effectively captured, shared, and utilised within simulation and analysis tools. Ensure that key learnings are communicated clearly and integrated into race operations. Qualifications, skills and experience required:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Proven experience as an engineer in motorsport across a wide range of activities.Strong coordination and communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Proactive approach to establishing good working practices.Strong knowledge of motorsport vehicle mechanical and electronic systems.
