MACHINE OPERATIVE
To operate textile machinery which involves the processes of spinning, gilling/drawing, twisting and winding in order to produce yarn
Operate specialist machinery to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, or move products
Maintain and monitor machine to make sure it functions properly
Verify adequate materials and supplies are available to complete operations as needed
Adjust machine as needed for changeovers, different functions, or other varying needs of production
Keep working area tidy
Understanding of how operated machine works
Conduct quality checks periodically
Work in line with safe working procedures to ensure safety of all members of staff or contractors
Europa Wools Limited is a family-owned business established in 1988 as merchants, stockists and processors of wool and textile fibres, supplying manufacturers and crafters from all over the world to include spinners of weaving, knitting, upholstery and carpet yarns.
Hours 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with one hour of unpaid breaks during the day.
Salary: National Living Wage subject to age and reviewed following successful completion of 6 month probationary period.
Experience of the textile industry or spinning operations desirable or an understanding of how an operated machine works. Full training will be given.
Immediate start for the right applicant. Must be reliable and a good timekeeper.
