CYP Family Therapist - Integrated Eating Disorder Service
Position: CYP Family Therapist – Integrated Eating Disorder Service at PAN TRADE (Ancora House, Chester).
Band 7 – Permanent part‑time (22.5 hours per week) – Salary £47,810–£54,710 per annum.
Job Overview
Exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Family Therapist to work in a dedicated specialist multidisciplinary eating disorders service for young people and their families. The role is part of the Ancora House CHEDS integrated eating disorder service, offering outpatient, day, and inpatient services for 13–18 year olds.
Main Duties
* Provide systematic assessment, therapy and interventions across inpatient and day service provision.
* Contribute systemic knowledge to multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical reviews and case discussions.
* Develop systemic assessment and intervention skills through training, supervision, co‑working and consultation within the team.
* Deliver specialist family and systemic work within the specialist setting.
Responsibilities
* Key member of the Ancora House Eating Disorder Service across inpatient and day provision.
* Part of development of systemic assessment and intervention skills through training, supervision, co‑working and consultation.
* Specialist resource contributing systemic knowledge to team meetings and clinical discussions.
Qualifications – Essential Criteria
* Post‑graduate/doctoral level qualification in family and systemic psychotherapy recognised by DOH and AFT.
* High‑level knowledge of family and systemic psychotherapy theory and practice.
* Knowledge of assessment and treatment models for child mental health, including specific family and systemic theories and evidence base.
* Effective written and oral communication skills.
* Knowledge of legislation relating to mental health, education and child protection.
Experience – Essential Criteria
* Generic and discipline specific mental health assessments and treatments of children and families across a range of ages.
* Formulating and devising treatment plans for a range of presentations.
* Working autonomously with families providing assessment and treatment service.
* Contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings and co‑working assessments and treatment within clinic‑based settings.
* Case managing families requiring longer‑term family and systemic psychotherapy.
Desirable – Qualifications
* Knowledge of different models of family work and evidence base for family therapy.
* Working knowledge of at least one other specialist psychological therapy.
* Interest in academic links and research.
Desirable – Experience
* 2 years experience in CAMH.
* Experience of providing a culturally sensitive service.
* Experience of working with young people with eating disorders.
* Working autonomously within community settings.
* Experience of teaching and training.
* Experience of delivering groups.
* Experience of delivering consultations to staff working in non‑CAMHS settings.
