Essential Requirements:
* We are looking for a compassionate and skilled professional with a relevant qualification equivalent to a Diploma, Degree, or NVQ Level 4, or with substantial experience working at an equivalent level.
* The successful candidate will hold a nationally recognised DVA qualification or be willing to complete all YOU DVA training to achieve IDVA level.
* You will have in-depth experience supporting women, men, and children affected by domestic violence and abuse, both on a one-to-one and group basis, and experience of working with perpetrators of domestic abuse.
* You will be able to build rapport quickly with service users and demonstrate empathy and understanding of the complex needs and experiences of individuals and families who have experienced domestic abuse.
* The role requires the ability to work constructively with non-abusive parents or guardians and their children to strengthen relationships and promote safety and wellbeing.
* A strong understanding of safeguarding adults and children is essential, along with experience in supporting, reviewing, and enabling positive outcomes for clients.
The Role:
The overall purpose of this role is to work with families, where there is an ongoing history of domestic abuse to achieve their goals and improve outcomes for families.
The skilled and experienced post holder will be dual located, primarily working as part of a multi agency team (Family Safeguarding Team - FST) sat within social care with agreed time located within the local DVA team.
The post holder will be responsible for engaging the whole family, to complete needs led assessments, to design and deliver agreed interventions to safeguard adults and children and to broker additional support, where indicated.
The post holder will be confident in their knowledge and responsible for raising awareness of and supporting others in the FST to understand the dynamics of domestic abuse and its impact on individuals and their children.
