GSL Education are seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Bognor who requires additional help with their learning and development. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in a child’s progress by providing personalised, hands-on support within a warm and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities of the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Deliver one-to-one support for a pupil with special educational needs, ensuring they stay engaged and motivated throughout lessons.
* Modify activities and learning resources to meet the child’s specific needs and abilities.
* Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being through calm and supportive interaction.
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement and track progress against individual learning plans.
* Foster independence, confidence, and a sense of achievement through daily encouragement and guidance.
Requirements for the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Previous experience in a classroom or support role is desirable.
* Knowledge of supporting children with SEN or additional needs is an advantage.
* Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
* Ability to remain patient, adaptable, and resilient.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
* Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
* Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
