The role is responsible for maintaining up-to-date customer accounts and supporting daily and monthly banking processes. What you will be doing We are looking for a Cash Allocation Clerk to join our Accounts Receivable team. This is a highly administrative role focused on ensuring customer accounts are accurately maintained and up to date through the timely allocation of cash receipts and matching of credit notes against the sales ledger. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day cash allocation process, helping to minimise aged debt and maintain accurate customer account balances in a fast-paced transactional environment. Key Responsibilities Allocate incoming customer payments accurately against sales ledger accounts Match cash receipts and credit notes to customer invoices Investigate and resolve unallocated cash and account discrepancies Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records Support daily and monthly banking processes Work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to resolve queries Ensure all transactions are processed in line with company procedures and deadlines Assist with general Accounts Receivable administration tasks as require You will have Essential GCSEs (including Mathematics and English at Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good organisational and administrative skills Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines Strong communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Desirable Previous experience working within a finance or Accounts Receivable function Experience in cash allocation or sales ledger administration Understanding of basic accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Intermediate Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and formulas The Company If you play or perform music in your business, you will usually need TheMusicLicence and that’s where we come in.
