Drama Teacher
A vibrant and creative secondary school in Merton is seeking a passionate and skilled Drama Teacher to join their successful Performing Arts department. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a fantastic opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a thriving arts culture within the school. The successful Drama Teacher will be enthusiastic.
Essential Qualities:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Proven experience teaching Drama at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. (KS5 experience is desirable, but not essential).
* A genuine passion for Drama and theatre.
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
* A commitment to raising student achievement and fostering creativity.
* A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities.
* A dedication to ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planning, preparing, and delivering dynamic and engaging Drama lessons.
* Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
* Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
* Maintaining accurate records of student attainment.
* Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
* Collaborating with colleagues within the Performing Arts department.
* Contributing to extra-curricular Drama activities (productions, clubs, etc.).
* Directing and/or supporting school performances.
* Communicating effectively with parents/guardians.
* Ensuring health and safety regulations are meet. The Drama Teacher must have the above.
