To manage the delivery of medium to large projects, major sub-projects of programmes or workstreams within projects. To support Programme Managers with significant and challenging Portfolio activities and to manage Programme and Project Delivery Teams providing specialist support, guidance and hands‑on delivery across the DVSA Change Portfolio. To understand and champion the use of DVSA's preferred delivery methodologies, Governance and Assurance across the Change Portfolio, PPM Community and its wide range of stakeholders. To support the Head of Profession with the development and improvement of the Programme and Project Management Community by demonstrating and best practice and shared learning.
Responsibilities
* Project Manage medium to large projects to DVSA's standards following appropriate methodologies in line with Agency Governance and Assurance controls.
* Manage the production of the required products in accordance with agreed Product Descriptions.
* Direct and motivate the project team.
* Plan and monitor the project in line with DVSA Change Bureau standards.
Experience & Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:
* Considerable experience of delivering projects and/or programmes
* Proven Business Change and General management experience
* Proficient in a broad range of Project Management delivery methodologies
* Experience in Resource Management
* A working knowledge of Portfolio Management
* Experience in reporting methods especially dashboards, scorecards and general status reporting
* Excellent Interpersonal and diplomacy skills with the ability to confidently interact with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
* Involvement in delivering project principles including risk management, benefits delivery, stakeholder and change management
* Experienced in writing of Business Cases
* Budgeting and costing experience
Qualifications
You must either hold, or be willing to work towards, the following:
* PRINCE2 Practitioner
* Agile PM Practitioner
* Managing Successful Programmes
* Better Business Case Practitioner
