Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Secretary based at Ailsa Hospital.
What you will do:
* Provide a high quality secretarial and administrative service for the Clinical Director in their clinical role in addition to supporting Consultant Psychiatrists, Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to ensure efficiency in patient care.
* Deal with telephone and face to face enquiries from all staff groups, patients, relatives, carers, providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
* Provide accurate and timeous information to GPs regarding patients by producing appropriate digital dictation - letter/documentation as well as clinical information to patients and GPs by telephone. Upload all correspondence to Carepartner.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
* HND in Business Administration or recognised medical secretarial qualification
* AMSPAR Qualification or relevant experience of medical terminology essential
* High standard of literacy, Standard Grade English, or equivalent
* Advanced typing skills with proven secretarial experience
* ECDL qualification or recognised IT qualification in Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook
* Experience in electronic diary management
* Experience of working in NHS environment and knowledge of NHS networks an advantage
* Experience in managing own workloads; required to work independently of others
* Ability to work unsupervised using own initiative
* Ability to work in own role while integrating as part of a team
