Overview
Join to apply for the Part Time Security Officer role at Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services. Mitie is seeking security enthusiasts to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for a new project with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Location: UK (region-wide coverage for DWP sites). Travel flexibility and a valid Full UK driving licence are required.
Responsibilities
* Ensure a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors and property.
* Patrol premises regularly to identify potential security threats.
* Monitor and control access to the building, ensuring proper identification and verification.
* Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.
* Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
* Provide a high level of customer service and assist staff and visitors in security-related matters.
* Conduct routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
* Adhere to Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
Health & Safety
* Look out for, and report any Health & Safety hazards on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment to reduce disruption, loss or damage.
* Maintain professional conduct in challenging situations and with customers.
* Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries after incidents for Incident Report processes.
* Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report incidents.
What we are looking for
* Previous security experience.
* SIA Licence required; SD Licence preferred.
* Full UK driving licence required.
