Electrical Controls Engineer
We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to develop, maintain, and optimise control systems implementation, including operation & maintenance procedures, make changes to PLC programs, and ensure maximum availability of production equipment.
Responsibilities
* Ensure accurate software backups are available and up-to-date for all PLC programs on site, new and existing equipment.
* Modify PLC programs where required.
* Liaise with staff and group for MES integration & new projects.
* Create work instructions and train maintenance staff in basic PLC & camera fault finding.
* Support the maintenance team where required to assist with PLC fault finding to ensure maximum machine availability.
* Ensure accurate software backups are available and up-to-date for all improvements where necessary or improvements are identified.
* Liaise with Engineering Stores to combat obsolescence & ensure minimum stock levels are maintained.
* Attend breakdowns and support maintenance.
* Replace obsolete / faulty equipment.
* Make program changes where required and safe to do so.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or above in Electrical Engineering / PLC programming, Electrical Maintenance (preferably degree level).
* PLC knowledge and expertise.
* Ability to write PLC programmes and provide software support.
* Knowledge of data capture systems.
* Fault finding and problem solving skills.
* Advanced IT skills.
* Network knowledge and understanding.
* Experience and knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and best practice.
* Knowledge of ALBB Robots, Rapid.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday – day shift.
Salary
£48,000 – £50,000 per annum.
