The Role
You’ll play a vital part in assessing and supporting children and families, intervening early where needed, and planning for permanence from day one. This role includes:
* Undertaking assessments, Section 47 Enquiries, and Children in Need work
* Working closely with families and multi-agency partners (police, health, education)
* Planning and delivering sustainable interventions with measurable outcomes
* Championing best practice, and aligning with the local Family Hubs and Early Help teams
* Ensuring the child’s voice is heard throughout the process
You’ll be part of a team that ensures children and families receive the right support at the right time — and that when social care involvement ends, support from the local community continues.
What You’ll Bring
* A Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
* 4+ years post-qualified, with solid experience in child protection, safeguarding, or family support
* Confident working in fast-paced, multi-agency environments
* Knowledgeable in Child Protection legislation and care planning
* Skilled in direct work with children and families
* A strong communicator and advocate for vulnerable children
* Creative, resilient, and reflective in your practice

* Manage a complex caseload with care and efficiency
* Complete high-quality assessments and care plans
* Make decisions based on risk, need, and the child’s best interests
* Provide advice and support to junior staff and students
* Use your skills to create long-lasting, positive outcomes for families
