Description We are recruiting a Head of Construction to join a landmark Energy project in Teesside. This Senior project leadership role will be responsible for the safe delivery of the construction phase of the project on programme and right first time. In summary the Head of Construction will be the SPA person for the planning and delivery of the Construction Phase of the project scope. Providing strong safety and technical leadership to their Team, and efficient management and co-ordination of the Facilities contractors. With a strong multi-discipline construction and technical background, they will provide leadership and direction to their team and on the resolution of site issues which could impact progress. The Senior Construction Manager will work closely with the Package Managers and Facilities contractors to resolve performance issues and blockers to progress. LI-AW1 Responsibilities Lead the construction team (team of circa 40) and the 2 x Area Construction Managers in their duties. Promoting a positive safety culture and right first-time quality culture Ensure the works are effectively planned, co-ordinated and delivered Ensure that the work readiness and control of work procedures are in place and effective for all works Monitor site progress and support and enable the Facilities Contractors to successfully deliver Ensure compliance with bp requirements and the Costain way. Work closely with the Package managers to ensure the Facilities Contract packages are safely delivered on time and co-ordinated with other Facilities Contracts Work closely with the HSE and quality team to ensure contract requirements are met. By the point of contact for any Union engagement LI-AW1 Qualifications Experience as a Construction Manager/Project managing the delivery of large scale, multi discipline scopes of work. 10 Years plus in a Senior/Lead Construction Management Role in an oil and gas, pipelines or energy/process plant environment HNC/HND or Technical/ Trade engineering qualifications. Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (IOSH, SMSTS for example) CSCS/CCSNG Card In depth experience of installing buried pipelines and process pipework in controlled environments. Detailed experience of onsite Construction Management and safe delivery, to time, quality and budget Detailed knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, Construction Phase Plans, risk assessment and construction hazards Experience of projects within brownfield and live operating site environments Experience of management of site subcontractors with civil, mechanical, electrical and site controls systems. Understanding of Engineering and Construction Principles construction techniques and best practices Proven team-working skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team Commercial knowledge and experience. Understanding of Procurement and Supply Chain impacts. Strong communication skills Industrial Relations Management Experience of managing technical and programme interfaces with adjacent and interdependent projects
