The Job:
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Pig Stocksperson to join a thriving and progressive free-range pig farming business in East Anglia. This hands-on role involves the daily care, welfare, and management of pigs bred outdoors all the way through to finishing, in line with the UK’s high animal welfare and biosecurity standards.
Operating across 3, acres, this large-scale unit has seen 55% growth in the last 18 months, making it an exciting time to join a forward-thinking and fast-developing team. You’ll be part of a high-welfare breeding operation, contributing directly to the success of a business that values both its animals and its people.
Key responsibilities include:
- Feeding, bedding, and cleaning out pigs
- Monitoring animal health and spotting welfare issues early
- Ensuring pigs have access to clean water and a healthy, well-managed outdoor environment
- Maintaining pig housing and fencing for free-range systems
- Operating weighing and feeding machinery, as well as administering veterinary treatments (with training)
- Ensuring animals meet weight and welfare standards before finishing
- Accurately recording data using farm IT systems
- Reporting to the pig unit manager, working as part of a structured team
This role requires practical skill, animal care knowledge, and a passion for free-range systems.

The Candidate:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in pig farming, ideally with breeding or free-range operations
- Proactive, hands-on individual looking to develop and grow within the business
- Demonstrated reliability, loyalty, and a genuine interest in livestock
- Comfortable with physical outdoor work in all seasons
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
- Willingness to learn and use farm systems and equipment
