Job description

We are seeking an Electrical & Electronic Engineering Teacher to deliver engaging T Level provision to 16–18 learners, combining theory with hands-on practical application. You will teach core principles across analogue and digital electronics, preparing learners for skilled technical careers. Applicants must be academically qualified with relevant, current industry experience. Essential experience includes microcontrollers, mechatronics and programming such as C++. Familiarity with tools including Arduino, MultiSim, Circuit Wizard and PCB Wizard is highly desirable. A recognised teaching qualification is required, or a commitment to achieve one within two years.

This opportunity is based at our Openshaw Campus to join the Automotive, Construction, Engineering and Logistics Department as a T-Level Electrical and Electronic Engineering Teacher on a permanent, full-time (35 hours per week) basis.

Role Responsibilities

15. Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment across programmes, using well‑planned lessons, resources and technology to support learner progress.
16. Plan, assess and provide meaningful feedback, ensuring learning outcomes are met and students know how to develop further.
17. Support learners’ progress and wellbeing by working collaboratively with tutors and support staff to meet diverse learner needs.
18. Maintain accurate records and meet quality standards, including registers, assessment records, quality assurance processes and compliance with college policies.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

19. Certificate of education or PGCE.
20. Current and valid industry specialism.
21. Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation).
22. Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification.
23. English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above.
24. Strong knowledge of analogue and digital electronics.
25. Experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and programming (. C++).
26. Ability to deliver both theoretical and practical electronics sessions.
27. Familiarity with simulation and design tools (. Arduino, MultiSim, PCB software).
28. Ability to support learners in circuit design, testing, and fault finding.
29. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
30. Understanding of industry applications such as mechatronics systems.
31. Ability to link theoretical concepts to real-world engineering practice.
