Court of Protection Solicitor – Birmingham - 2 days in the office | Flexible hybrid workingLooking for the next step in your Court of Protection career? This role offers the chance to work within a developing team in Birmingham where your input will help shape how the department grows and succeeds.You’ll be working closely with the Deputy and Head of Department, gaining exposure to a wide variety of matters. From helping individuals plan for later life to supporting those who have lost capacity through injury or illness, your work will have a direct and positive impact on clients and their families.What the role involves:
Handling new enquiries and building client relationshipsDrafting Deputyship applications, Lasting Powers of Attorney and other key documentsManaging caseloads involving clients who need assistance with their property and financial affairsLiaising with family members, case managers, care homes and financial advisersPreparing deputyship accounts and keeping files court-readyStaying up to date with the Mental Capacity Act, Court of Protection Rules and Deputy StandardsSupporting Senior Lawyers on high-value, complex cases (often exceeding £1m)
What you’ll bring:
Previous experience in Court of Protection workStrong written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to work empathetically with vulnerable clients and their familiesConfidence with IT systems and case management softwareOrganisational skills to keep on top of deadlines and varied workloads
(Experience with Wills, Probate, or Trusts would be a bonus, but it’s not essential.)Why this role?This is more than just another Solicitor position.
