Job Description
An established and approachable law firm is seeking to recruit a full-time Residential Conveyancing Assistant to join its friendly and well-regarded residential property team based in Birmingham. Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out general administrative tasks
* Preparing and submitting quotes to clients
* Handling queries from clients, solicitors, lenders, and estate agents
* Providing client updates and monitoring matter progression
* Opening and closing files on the case management system in line with AML, quality standards, SRA, and CQS regulations
* Supporting leasehold transactions
* Conducting online searches
* Using the Land Registry portal to submit registrations, respond to requisitions, and obtain official copies, leases, and title plans
* Generating Stamp Duty Land Tax calculations and submitting applications
* Preparing and submitting bills, receipts, and payments to the finance team on behalf of fee earners
* Providing occasional reception cover
Requirements
* Previous experience as a conveyancing assistant preferred
* Good understanding of the day-to-day operations of a legal office
* Advanced computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Working knowledge of case management software
* Strong English language proficiency
* Excellent administrative and organisational skills
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
* High attention to detail
* Basic understanding of the conveyancing process
Job Details
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:15 (office-based) with a one-hour lunch break
* Immediate start available
